Positive Benefits of the Loving Touch of Mother and Baby : Benefits of Oil Massage

The loving touch of mother can create wonders to baby. A close attachment to baby can prevent diseases, boost immunity and enhance IQ in baby. A mothers touch, soothing voice, laughter and smiles are fuel for the baby’s developing brain.
  •  Skin to skin touch of mother and baby at birth reduces crying and crankiness in baby. It helps to keep the baby warmer as baby would be trying to get adjusted to the outside world.
  •  This close contact will stimulate the release of oxytocin, the hormone that makes breast milk flow fluently. That is how makes breastfeeding easier.
  • The skin to skin cuddles have profound effects on attachment, breastfeeding, bonding and especially baby’s development.

Mother And Baby
  • This loving touch is not limited to those few precious hours after birth. Mother should take a little time each day to introduce baby massage.
  • Skin to skin touch or what we call baby massage has shown lot of positive health benefits for babies. Massage helps to tune mother more to the baby’s body language. Connection through touch is the only way to bond with the newborn.
  • Babies who are gently massaged before bedtime sleep better. They will have lower level of stress hormone and higher level of melatonin which helps baby to sleep.
  • Massaging baby with a small amount of natural vegetable oil(such as olive oil) stimulates all the senses of baby through skin contact, eye contact, hearing mothers voice as well as mothers familiar smell.
  • When a baby cries, it is very important to respond to the baby’s cry. Most of the times just patting on baby’s back puts the baby back to sleep.
In contrast to the  results of trying to instill “independence” through early detached parenting, which creates emotionally insecure adults, securely attached infants become secure adults of high self-esteem  who are strongly independent, but who can also be interdependent in relationships.
